Sometimes we forget how beautiful it is to stand in the comfort of our own company. Life wasn’t meant to be spent alone but some lessons require solitude. Learn to love your hidden place.

Consider this, surgeries are not done for the sake of the audience…but for the wellness of the patient. Everyone won’t be around for your healing. But be healed anyway.

Healing is often found in the hidden place. God cannot heal what you won’t reveal. Breathe in the peace that comes from vulnerability with God. Only those most vital to your wellness will be able to witness God performing surgery. Everyone is not vital. That is okay.

In this age of social media, we are often misled by our perceived platforms. We get wounded and then blast our deficiencies for the world to see for the sake of being transparent not realizing everyone should not have access to our wounds and secrets. Your healing is sacred and should be handled with care. Inviting unqualified bodies to the most vulnerable parts of your person is like jumping into a shark infested body of water not realizing you were bleeding. You will always attract those meant to drain the life out of you.

We have all done it. In a moment of frustration with life or a cry to be seen or heard, we run to social media for help and then get upset when someone feels entitled to our process, all the while we invited them in to the table of our hearts with the click of a button. We cannot be so frivolous with ourselves in moments of frailty. Letting just anyone have a seat at our table leaves us subject to any mess they choose to make.

Everyone cannot be in the operating room when the surgeon is operating on you. Only essential personnel. You have to, with God’s help, discern who is essential and who isn’t. Once you discern the who, you must determine and define their how. How are they necessary to your healing? Everyone in the room doesn’t serve the same purpose. As you progress and process you will learn who and what is necessary. Proper placement, posture, and position of personnel can either hinder or help your healing. Be intentional and selective. Everyone good to you is not good for you.

You have to make the decision that you will not go into the next phase of healing holding on to things and people that are non-essential. Healing is painful, healing is vulnerable, healing often hurts but it never removes our responsibility to do it just because it is uncomfortable and oftentimes inconvenient.

True freedom does not exist without a renewed mind and new heart. We all need heart surgery, let God heal you and let Him handle the personnel shift. You will be better, lighter, and more free.
Trust me.
